If you Google "business cards", AllBusinessCards.com is one of the top ranked websites. Because of that, I decided to upload and order a custom-designed set of business cards from AllBusinessCards.com to review the service.

The below review reveals my entire experience with the company, and is totally unbiased because I am in no way affiliated with AllBusinessCards.com, nor was I given any preferential treatment during my order.

This review will have four sections: the order process, the pricing, the delivery time, and the card quality. Also, at the bottom of the page there is a comment section where you can leave a review or read other's comments.

The Order Process

On February 16th, 2011 I visited AllBusinessCards.com to order my custom business card, shown below:

I really like the design and overall look of the AllBusinessCards.com homepage. They recently redesigned their homepage, and the new design is extremely to the point - there is a big button in the center of the screen that says "Start Designing Now". Once I clicked that button, I was lead to the AllBusinessCards.com design suite, which I would rate as average. There are plenty of graphics you can play with, and it is easy to upload your own design, but there isn't anything special about it.

Overall, the upload/order process at AllBusinessCards.com went fine, as I was able to upload my card, approve my design, and purchase my cards within 10 minutes. Instead of explaining the entire order process, I have created a screencast so you can watch the process and learn how to upload a custom design:

Everything went smoothly while uploading and ordering my business cards. The only hangup I had was not figuring out how to zoom in on the card until after I had completed the screen cast (there is a slider bar on the left side of the design suite that allows you to blow up the design and see it in better detail). If you are uploading a custom design to AllBusinessCards.com, make sure to follow the instructions below for optimal results.

AllBusinessCards.com File Requirements

The actual files I uploaded were made to the exact specs recommended on the AllBusinessCards.com website:

  • .PNG File Type
  • CMYK Color Mode
  • 3.625" x 2.125" Dimensions
  • 300 DPI Resolution

By making sure that I had the image settings correct, I was able to complete my entire order without ever having to talk to a customer service representative. This was a big plus for me, as I don't like having to jump through a lot of hoops just to get my file settings correct (especially when I have already followed the instructions).

AllBusinessCards.com Business Card Pricing

AllBusinessCards.com offers business cards starting at $19.99 for 1000 full color cards, but most orders are going to end up costing more than that. For example, my order ended up being $39.47 total (for 500 cards) after upgrading to a full color back and spending $9.48 for standard ground shipping. Here is the price chart for varying quantities/configurations of full color cards:

Once I completed my design and chose my quantity, I had to choose from the following shipping options (customized for my zip code in Central Pennsylvania):

  • UPS Ground: $9.48
  • UPS 2nd Day Air: $10.71
  • UPS 3rd Day Select: $11.10
  • UPS Next Day Air Saver: $15.24
  • UPS Next Day Air: $16.32
  • UPS 2nd Day Air A.M.: $18.63
  • UPS 2nd Day Air Early A.M.: $75.89

As I wasn't in any rush, I chose the standard ground shipping. I would have been happier with a lesser shipping option, as $9.48 increases my order total by about 33%, but I can live with that.

Delivery Time

I was pleased with the ground shipping, as the business cards showed up in 4 business days (6 days total). However, I was concerned when I initially saw the box. Below you can see pictures of the box and packaging:

The box was wrapped tightly with a plastic zip tie, and it actually had caved in the side of the box. I was worried that the cards inside may have been damaged.

Fortunately, when I opened the package all of the business cards were fine, but it was still a bit of a ding on the shipping experience.

The Card Quality

Although the damage to the box was startling, the card quality was fantastic. The design was replicated almost perfectly (the blues could have been a tad darker, but it was very close), the UV gloss was shiny and smooth, and the actual cards were very sturdy and thick. Below you can see images of my printed business cards:

Here is the front of my card. The design turned out sharp, and the colors were replicated very well.

AllBusinessCards.com Back of Card
The back of my card also turned out great, as the blues were deep and dark. This card may have turned out a tad bit crooked, but you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it.

The Verdict

Overall, I was very pleased with AllBusinessCards.com's service. Their order process was quick and easy, the cards showed up fast (especially for ground shipping), and the card quality was very good. I would definitely recommend AllBusinessCards.com to a friend - they get an A- from me. The only thing holding them back from an A or A+ was the dented packaging (which may have been UPS' fault, anyways).
